Unbound

Unbound is a romance about a woman everyone treats as evidence, and the man who sees her as human before he understands why that is dangerous.

It is also about what happens when people begin wanting things again inside a system built to function better when they do not. When an unaffected outsider restores tiny flashes of agency to an emotionally suppressed town, the institution watching them mistakes recovery for dangerous instability.

And when a system decides capability itself is evidence, innocence becomes irrelevant.

Silloute of a man and a woman standing apart. Woods and river in the background too. Black

In Evermere, a town still muted by the lingering spell of a fallen tyrant, the coven hunts for the reason no one has fully awakened, and all suspicion points to Regina, the former leader’s daughter. For two years, Regina has survived under their scrutiny, guarding the truth of what she helped create and what she refuses to become again. But when Clare, a young witch raised outside Evermere, returns with her non-magical best friend, Elliot, the investigation begins to fracture. Elliot’s unbound presence stirs the town’s buried emotions, and his refusal to treat Regina like a problem unsettles the walls she has spent years keeping intact. Drawn to the one person who sees her without trying to control her, Regina finds the spell binding Evermere beginning to unravel alongside the distance she has fought to keep. To save the town, she must decide whether to trust Elliot with the truth without losing him, and whether the magic she fears can become something other than control.

What Early Readers Are Saying

"Unbound is a great introduction into a magical world where the problems parallel our own. It is a joy to imagine the supernatural but it is also inspiring to see that the real magic of healing trauma and old wounds is completely in our natural grasp." - Melanie K.

“The slow-building connection between Regina and Elliot is tender, complicated, and impossible not to root for.” - J. Carillo

“Evermere is the kind of world that stays with you, beautiful on the surface and quietly unsettling underneath.” - Beta Reader
